The Gauteng based INEX Legends Series has certainly proved to be a force to be reckoned with over the past few years. The competitive nature of the series has put them in good stead amongst local racing circles, with experienced competitors and established racing categories standing up and taking note of this successful racing series. With an experienced and professional team managing the series, they continue to grow from strength to strength.

2015 will be no different and promises to be another successful year for the series. In an economic climate where sponsors are few and far between, Liqui Moly South Africa have once again committed to partnering with the ever popular INEX Legends Series for the 2015 racing season.

The 2014 racing season will be remembered for some of the closest and most competitive racing seen in recent years with full grids setting the tone for spectacular racing at each event.

Devin Robertson claimed his second South African INEX Legends title in succession – a first in series history after dominating almost every event. Even more impressive however was the success that the South African team had at the INEX Legends World Finals held in Virginia in the USA on the 7th of December 2014, only days after the final event of the local motorsport season.

Top ranked Legends drivers from across the globe converged on the well known Virginia Motor Speedway, all hoping to claim the coveted INEX Legends World Title. But this honour would go to our very own Devin Robertson. After some really intense and competitive racing against the best Legends drivers in the world, the plucky South African showed that he was made of tougher stuff by claiming the 2014 INEX Legends World Title as well as the Pro Division World points Championship!

To reaffirm that his results were no fluke, Franco Di Matteo claimed sixth overall in the Masters Division World points and third at the World Finals. Fourteen year old Lonika Maartens also impressed by claiming third position in the World Points Championship in the Young Lions Division as well as seventh position at the world finals. Willie Erasmus also did well to claim sixth position in the Semi-pro Division at the World Finals as well.

With this success behind them the 2015 Liqui Moly Legends Championship promises to be the best one yet! The new season will consist of eleven rounds – with the series visiting the historic Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit for the first time, as well as the newly built Dezzi Raceway in Natal for the first time as well.
