Alfa Trofeo Racing – Round 1 Pre Race Report for Midvaal on 14 February 2015

Alfa Trofeo Racing

After a long three month break, the Alfa Trofeo Racing Series will kick the 2015 racing season off at the rustic Midvaal Raceway in Meyerton on Saturday 14 February.

The traditional handicap racing format of this popular series will be maintained for this season, allowing drivers of various levels of experience the opportunity of taking the honours. The usual mix of youth and experience in the field is sure to keep the racing as competitive as always.

The line up for the first race of the season will see a number of new and old faces on the grid. Defending Champion and series stalwart Anthony Theobald (1966 Guilia) will return to take on the best that the series has to offer. John Hendriks (1982 Sud) will be making his debut at the first event, with Youth Programme regular Kyle Viljoen (Alfa 145) back with serious intentions of chasing the 2015 title.

Ralph Kernes (Alfetta) will make a welcome return along with other familiar names like Gerrit Faling (GTV), Jose Jardim (1965 Guilia Sprint), Corrie Tolmay (Guilia), Jose de Carvalho (GTV6) and Paul Griffin (1984 Sud).

The first race of the year promises to be a fun filled affair with the action on the track being fast and furious.
