Zwartkops Raceway was the setting for the seventh round of the 2016 Inland Championship this past weekend with non-stop action highlighting another brilliant race day.

As usual the INEX Legends series kicked off proceedings with an action packed first race. Divan Myburgh (Pro) took an early lead ahead of Clinton Bezuidenhout (Young Lion) and Seef Fourie (Pro). Fourie took the lead on lap two with Lonika Maartens (Semi-Pro) and Myburgh hot on his heels. Maartens grabbed the lead on the penultimate lap of the race and only just held on for the win ahead of Fourie and Myburgh.
The second race picked up where the last one left off as Maartens took an early lead ahead of cousins Divan and Llewellyn Myburgh. Divan gained the lead on lap two with Fourie coming through to claim second by lap six. A last lap tussle with Divan handed the victory to Llewellyn with Anro Stadler taking second ahead of Bezuidenhout.
The third and final race continued the non-stop action with Fourie taking the lead early on. Determined to make up for the lost points in race two he put his head down and went on to take a comfortable victory ahead of Stadler and Divan Myburgh.

The eighth round of the 2016 INEX Legends Championship saw this popular series head to the Zwartkops Raceway on Saturday 3 September and joining the Extreme Festival this time round for yet another action packed event.
The traditional ball draw for grid positions saw Johann van de Venter (Big Boss Auto) take pole position ahead of Seef Fourie (Maxtrac / Denmar Steel). Richard van Heerde (Browndeck Roofing) would line up in third place with Anro Stadler (Jentelle Racing) lining up alongside him on the second row. Janeske Viljoen (INEX Legends SA) and Clinton Bezuidenhout (Universal Healthcare) would round out the top six.
Race 1
The first race of the day couldn’t have been closer with a three way battle for the lead setting the tone for the day’s racing. Clinton Bezuidenhout (Universal Healthcare) grabbed an early lead ahead of Seef Fourie (Maxtrac / Denmar Steel) and Justin Robertson (Big Boss Auto). Divan Myburgh (Bamboo Racing) moved up to third a lap later and snatched second place from Fourie before the end of the lap.

The INEX Legends Championship will head to the Zwartkops Raceway in Pretoria for the eighth round of the 2016 season on Saturday 3 September. However this time out they will be a guest category in the increasingly popular Extreme Festival format of racing.
The Overall and Individual class championships in the series are now closer than ever.
The Classes
Seef Fourie and Divan Myburgh are currently tied on points at the top of the points table in the Pro Category. Shaun Nel is not too far behind the pair and could well cause a few upsets as well. Keagan Wessels has had a string of podium results over the past two events and is certainly looking to make a late charge for a top three result in the class if he continues racking up the points like he has. Morne Stoltz drops back to fifth position while Llewellyn Myburgh continues to search for the reliability that has been preventing him from showing his true potential.
