Pre Race: Liqui Moly Legends Championship – Round 5 – Midvaal Raceway

The Liqui Moly Legends Championship will head to the rustic Midvaal Raceway on Saturday 20 June for the fifth round of the 2015 championship.

With four exciting and eventful rounds behind them, the title chase has seen quite a dramatic change at the sharp end of the field.

Defending World and South African champion Devin Robertson (Pro) has now jumped to the top of the leader board after a string of victories at the previous event. Llewellyn Myburgh (Pro) has moved into second position after more consistent results at the fourth round as well.

Seef Fourie (Pro) moves back into third position, and is still well within reach of the current leaders.

A disastrous outing at Zwartkops Raceway has seen early season contender Divan Myburgh (Pro) drop back to fourth position. He will be hoping for a return to form at this event but will no doubt be under serious pressure from an on form Willie Erasmus (Pro). Young gun Keagan Wessels (Semi-pro) continues to impress with consistent top six results over the past few events.

Franco di Matteo leads the Masters Title chase but will also be keen to close the gap on the youngsters ahead of him as well. Shaun Nel (Pro) suffered some bad luck at the previous event and will be hoping to regain the old form that has seen him move into the top eight. Rudy Myburgh (Master) is back into the top ten after finding more consistency at the fourth round. More importantly he has managed to regain the position that he lost to school boy Clinton Bezuidenhout, who leads the Young Lions class in his debut season in the series.

With no less than sixteen other drivers in the field who are all more than capable of claiming points scoring results, the racing at Midvaal Raceway is expected to be fast and furious!
