The final round of the Inland Championship Roadshow will see this popular series head back to the Red Star Raceway on Saturday 12 November.
With various championship titles still to be decided amongst the various categories the racing is expected to be closer than ever.
Riaan Woest has a narrow seven point lead over Rick Loureiro in class B
Newly crowned Bridgestone BMW Club Racing Series champion Julian Fameliaris (E36 328i Turbo) has been in unstoppable form all season. He will be looking to end the 2016 season on a high with a double race win certainly on his mind. His cousin Dino Fameliaris (E36 M3 Turbo) has secured second place in class A as well. The class B battle is far from over and will certainly be going down to the wire. Riaan Woest (E46 M3 GTR) has a narrow seven point lead over Rick Loureiro (E30 3.2 CSL). Jorge Estrela (E36 328i Turbo) is a solitary point ahead of Stefano Martinelli (E36 328i Turbo) and both are more than capable of grabbing valuable championship points. Lorenzo Gaultieri (E36 328i) wrapped up the class C championship at the recent Kyalami event and will also be looking to end the season on a high. Mish-al Sing (E30 325is) is in a safe second but third place is still very much up for grabs, with Philip Smit (E46 M3), Craig Ball (E36 328i), Jimmy Tsimenoglou (E36 M3) and Shane Grobler (E36 328i) all in with a chance. Troy Cochran (E46 325ti) has all but sewn up the class D title and will be looking to stay ahead of Andy Smith (E36 318is Turbo) and Bevan Meyer (E36 325i). Mike Dodd (E36 318is) looks set to clinch class E.
The rejuvenated Inland Championship Roadshow will once again head to the Zwartkops Raceway for the seventh round of the 2016 racing season on Saturday 17 September.
If the last event at this popular venue is anything to go by the racing is sure to be fast and furious.
Devin Robertson is expected to lead the charge in the Big Boss Auto Super Saloons
Championship leader Ben Morgenrood (Ford Mustang) will once again be under pressure from Mackie Adlem (Jaguar) and Devin Robertson (Chev Corvette) in the GTA class of the Big Boss Auto Super Saloon category. Willie Hepburn (Opel Rekord) is expected to lead the GT2 class with Jody Vianna (Mazda RX8) heading up the charge in GT3. Adrian Dalton (VW Golf) is the man to beat in GT4 with Jimmy Tsimenglou (BMW M3) the class leader in GT5.
Julian Fameliaris (E36 328i Turbo) continues his assault on the class A Championship in the Bridgestone BMW Club Racing Series, but can definitely expect some tough opposition from Desmond Bloem (E36 M3 Turbo) and Julian’s cousin Dino Fameliaris (E36 M3 Turbo) who is expected to return in a greatly improved machine. The class B battle has become a lot closer with Riaan Woest (E46 M3 GTR) a mere two points ahead of Rick Loureiro (E30 3.2 CSL) after the last round. Warren Dodd (E46 M3) has also made good progress but will have to worry about an on form Jorge Estrela (E36 328i Turbo) who has been a revelation over the past few events.
The sixth round of the Inland Championship Roadshow will head to the tight and technical Red Star Raceway on Saturday 13 August. With the various categories starting to reveal a number of championship leaders the action is expected to be fast and furious.
The Bridgestone BMW Club Racing Series continues to produce non-stop action. Julian Fameliaris (E36 328i Turbo) has a massive lead in Class A and the overall championship, but can definitely expect some tough opposition from his cousin Dino Fameliaris (E36 M3 Turbo) and Desmond Bloem (E36 M3 Turbo). Riaan Woest (E46 M3 GTR) is the leading contender in Class B but he will be under huge pressure from Rick Loureiro (E30 3.2 CSL) and Warren Dodd (E46 M3). Stefano Martinelli (E36 328i Turbo) and more recently Jorge Estrela (E36 328i Turbo) have also put in some strong performances and could both challenge for a podium position. Class C has produced some of the closest racing all season with at least half a dozen drivers challenging for the lead. Mish-al Sing (E30 325is) currently leads the pack but he will be challenged by the likes of Lorenzo Gaultieri (E36 328i), Andreas Meier (E36 M3) and Craig Ball (E36 328i). Jimmy Tsimenoglou (E36 M3) will be hoping to have his car repaired in time after his recent Zwartkops crash so that he can continue his challenge in the class as well. Philip Smit (E46 M3), Shane Grobler (E36 328i) and Willie Erasmus (E36 M3) have all been in a points scoring position this season as well. Bevan Meyer (E36 325i) still leads the class D brigade but is an unconfirmed entry so drivers like Troy Cochran (E46 325ti), Neil Reynolds (E39 M5) and Edwin Dreyer (E46 M3) will take advantage of the points on offer. Mike Dodd (E36 318is) is the lone Class E driver at this event but will be hoping for more opposition in future.
